An Garda Síochána is the national police service of Ireland.
Tuam Garda Station, Abbey Trinity Rd, Tuam, Co. Galway
In an emergency the "blue light" services - Garda Síochána, ambulance, fire and Irish Coast Guard - can be contacted by dialling 112 or 999.
[Emergency - 112 or 999] Dial 112 or 999 in genuine cases of emergency - don't assume someone else will make the call.
A genuine emergency is where someone’s life, health, property or the environment is in danger, or where there is reason to assume this to be the case.
Explain about when to use these numbers to your children.
Find out more about calling 999 by visiting the ambulance service webpages.
Going on holidays? Remember 112 is the one emergency number that works anywhere in Europe.
Do not use 112 or 999 for non-urgent matters, or simply to make enquiries.
If you need to report a crime which is not an emergency, contact your local Garda station. Keep the number of your local garda station close to the phone at home and in work.
Check out the Emergency Calls section of Child Safety Inside and Outside the Home video on the HSE YouTube Channel.
Find out more at www.112.ie/.
NOTE: If you need the ambulance service in an emergency call 999 or 112. This will allow the Emergency Call Taker in the National Emergency Operations Centre to guide you and explain to you what you should do using a step-by-step approach until the ambulance arrives.
